BREAKFAST AND LUNCH COSTS AND CHANGES
Because of net deficits in excess of $200,000 each year, York Preparatory Academy DOES NOT participate in the CEP program that allows ALL students to have free breakfast. During previous school years we provided free breakfast for ALL students outside of that program at a loss to the budget. However, due to budgetary restrictions for this school year, we will NOT be able to provide FREE breakfast for ALL students. In order to receive FREE or REDUCED meals, families MUST complete a new FREE/REDUCED application for the 2026-2027 school year.
FREE/REDUCED MEAL APPLICATION - NOW OPEN
Free/Reduced Meal applications are now open and ready for you to submit. Attached is a hard copy you can fill out and email back to nicole.downard@yorkprepsc.org. or you can bring it to the Field House Cafeteria during back to school night. Or if you prefer, there is an online version you can submit and get your determination immediately by going to PaySchoolsCentral.com. Once there you will need to create an account if you don't already have one, and then add your students using their Student ID numbers (going out separately today). After your students are all added you will click on the Free/Reduced Meal Application link on the right to begin your application. Please fill it completely out and press submit. You will then receive a screen letting you know if you are Free (F), Reduced (R), or Full Pay (D) for the coming year. If you receive a letter stating that your student(s) are already approved for benefits, then there is no need to fill out the application. These letters will go out by the end of this week.
If the determination comes back Free, then your student(s) will be able to get their first Breakfast and Lunch each day Free of charge just by entering their Student ID number. If the determination comes back as Reduced then your student(s) will be able to get their first breakfast each day for $0.30 and their first lunch each day for $0.40. If the determination comes back as full pay the first Breakfast for all K-12 students will be $1.85. The first Lunch for grades K-4th is $3.25 and grades 5th-12th is $3.75.

York Prep utilizes Payschools Central for parents to be able to add funds online, complete the free/reduced meal application, set up reminders and alerts, review your child's purchases, and enroll in auto-refill. Families can add money to their child's Payschools Central account online (fee added).
Create a PaySchools Central Account:
Create your account using your computer or tablet at www.payschoolscentral.com
If you want to use your phone, download the PaySchools Central app on the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Complete account registration by selecting register, entering your profile details, setting up your password via the email link PaySchools will send you, then logging in.
Add your children to your account using their student ID numbers.
If you’d like, enter credit card and/or banking information as forms of payment to use with your Payschools Central account, or simply plan to use guest checkout when the time comes.
BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT
Stop by our Field House Cafeteria on Back to School Night on August 6th from 5:00-7:00 pm for free samples, to load money on your student's lunch account, and receive support completing your free/reduced lunch form.
