BREAKFAST AND LUNCH COSTS AND CHANGES
Because of net deficits in excess of $200,000 each year, York Preparatory Academy DOES NOT participate in the CEP program that allows ALL students to have free breakfast. During previous school years we provided free breakfast for ALL students outside of that program at a loss to the budget. However, due to budgetary restrictions for this school year, we will NOT be able to provide FREE breakfast for ALL students. In order to receive FREE or REDUCED meals, families MUST complete a new FREE/REDUCED application for the 2026-2027 school year.
FREE/REDUCED MEAL APPLICATION - Opening Later this Summer
York Preparatory Academy offers a free/reduced lunch program and ask ALL families to complete an application to apply for school meal benefits. The Free/Reduced Meal applications will be open later this summer for the 26-27 school year. Only the 2026-2027 application, signed after 07/01/2026 can be considered and processed for the 26-27 school year. Free and Reduced Meal Applications must be completed EVERY school year. Free and Reduced meal status carries over until September 19, 2026. Starting September 22, 2026, students will be required to pay full price if a 2026/27 Free/Reduced application has not been completed.
Payschools Central allows you to quickly and easily fill out free-and-reduced cost meal applications online in a secure, step-by-step portal. Once your application has been submitted through the portal, you will immediately receive your eligibility and will be able to download your determination letter. Your application will be sent from a secure website directly to York Preparatory Academy, so you do not need to worry about filling out a paper form that could be lost or misplaced. We recommend applying online; however, paper meal applications will be available at the Student Union front desk. York Prep utilizes Payschools Central for parents to be able to add funds online, complete the free/reduced meal application, set up reminders and alerts, review your child's purchases, and enroll in auto-refill. Families can add money to their child's Payschools Central account online (fee added).
Create a PaySchools Central Account:
Create your account using your computer or tablet at www.payschoolscentral.com
If you want to use your phone, download the PaySchools Central app on the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Complete account registration by selecting register, entering your profile details, setting up your password via the email link PaySchools will send you, then logging in.
Add your children to your account using their student ID numbers.
If you’d like, enter credit card and/or banking information as forms of payment to use with your Payschools Central account, or simply plan to use guest checkout when the time comes.
BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT
Stop by our Field House Cafeteria on Back to School Night on August 6th from 5:00-7:00 pm for free samples, to load money on your student's lunch account, and receive support completing your free/reduced lunch form.
