York Preparatory Academy held the first Futures in Focus Student Conference for our 11th and 12th graders on Monday, March 4th inspiring our students to dream big, overcome obstacles, and be equipped and prepared for their journey ahead!
HIGHLIGHTS:
- At registration, each student received a lanyard with their session schedule as well as a notebook/ pen and a candy treat!
- Students arrived in business casual attire thanks to our sponsor, Plato's Closet and headed to the gym for breakfast and a welcome address.
- Students registered for four workshop sessions at the high school led by captivating speakers from our community!
- York Prep welcomed community leaders, representatives from our School District, student volunteers, YPA Alumni, Board members, and business sponsors.
- Following the workshops, students, presenters, staff, and guests enjoyed a catered lunch in our Student Union.
- Keynote speaker, 1st LT Duncan Kirkwood delivered a powerful address encouraging the students to place the mission first, never accept defeat, and never quit.
- Founders Credit Union offered free professional headshots for students to use to setup job recruitment and professional networking profiles as well as use for college, scholarship, and employment resumes.
