YPA Continues to Grow
York Preparatory Academy is well into our third year of successful operation and we look forward to continued growth in the coming years as we build our YPA family.
York Preparatory Academy is a tuition-free public charter school. As one of the largest public charter schools in the South Carolina Public Charter School District, YPA accepts students in grades K5 – 11th (12th grade in 2014) who live in SC regardless of the assigned school district.
In accordance with the South Carolina Charter Schools Act, YPA continues to:
* Improve Student Learning
* Increase Learning Opportunities
* Utilize Productive Teaching Methods
* Establish New Forms of Accountability for Schools
* Create New Professional Opportunities for Teachers
YPA focuses on strong academic accountability along with character education. YPA is the first school in SC that integrates the "Character Counts!" program in all grade levels and continues to out-perform area schools in PASS testing in most categories. YPA offers many athletic programs as well as an award-winning music program. These are just some of the highlights of York Preparatory Academy and what make us the "school of choice" for many families in our area.
