eLearning Days Family Participation Information
If the school should need to close for inclement weather or another emergency, school administration may call for an eLearning day. Five of these days are approved to count as regular school days throughout the year. York Prep will utilize Schoology for all eLearning communication and content delivery. If you have any questions, please reach out to your school contact to the left.
Attendance
Attendance may be confirmed by assignment submission, online activity, or participation in class check-ins. For students without access to devices or the internet, completion of printed assignments within two school days of return to school will count as present.
Schedule
Virtual Office Hours:
Teachers are available from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for virtual office hours via chat and email.
Live Sessions:
Each teacher hosts a weekly live session via Google Meet during extended closures to check in with students, provide support, and answer questions.
Professional Collaboration:
During extended school closures, teachers would participate in virtual PLCs on Fridays with administrators to review student progress and plan for upcoming weeks.
Related Arts:
During extended closures, Related Arts teachers send an “activity of the week” on rotating days.
Troubleshooting
Students and families who may experience technical issues should reach out to their classroom teacher who will escalate the need to the appropriate school personnel.
Special Programs
All students with disabilities and/or exceptional needs will receive support and accommodations as determined by their IEP teams. During extended closure IEP meetings are held virtually via Google Meet or arranged with limited in-person contact if needed for those without device access.
