William Shakespeare's comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream portrays the events surrounding the marriage of Theseus, the Duke of Athens, to Hippolyta, the former queen of the Amazons. The events are controlled and manipulated by fairies including: the mischievous Puck, who causes trouble as often as possible, as well as King Oberon and Queen Titania who are fighting over a child which messes up all the seasons in the process. The events include the adventures of four young Athenian lovers who fall in and out of love with each other, and a group of six Athenian workers who put on the most ridiculous play at the Duke's wedding reception. At the end of the play the question remains was it all real or just a dream? The play is one of Shakespeare's most popular works for the stage and is widely performed across the world. Our adaptation will combine Modern English, to allow for the audience to understand the play as well as, the traditional Shakespearean pronunciations to present the beauty of the original language."
