The mission of the York Preparatory Academy (YPA) is for the faculty, staff,students, parents, and community to provide an engaged learning environment that leads to the success of each individual student, while also challenging these students to become life-long learners, independent thinkers, respectful individuals, and responsible citizens thus preparing them for a 21st century global economy.

Managing Director's Perspective

 With 2012 fully underway, some very good things are going on at York Preparatory Academy.

New approaches are in the works as SPED (Special Education) will soon be using iPads with their students to enhance an already strong program.  The iPads are very adaptable to the needs of students with disabilities and there are many applications designed to develop much needed skills.  The iPads will be on a mobile cart and can be moved from room to room as needed

We have also ordered two carts of mobile laptops which teachers can use in their classrooms to give their students more exposure to 21st Century learning.  With one fixed computer lab in the Media Center and two mobile labs, our students will get an even better chance to improve the skills they will take into high school and college.

 The new campus is the real excitement around York Prep.  Now that work has begun, we are looking forward to a beautiful new campus that will allow us to spread our elbows and our wings.  With the added room to grow, new and expanded programs will give our students an even richer educational experience.

Daily Announcements
