Why Performing Arts?
Research has shown that learning music causes positive changes in the brain, helps with muscle memory, concentration, retention, learning of language, both aurally and verbally as well as many other benefits. There are numerous studies that have been done in the past several years and still new ones are being developed. For example at North Western University there is an Auditory Neuroscience Lab which is conducting studies on how the brain affects language ...Through the Arts students learn to creatively solve problems, cooperate, gain an outlet for self expression, increase their level of empathy or in early stages develop that virtue as well as many other character building qualities. 1st offense 1:1 talk between student and me
2nd offense 2:1 talk involving student core teacher(s) and me
3rd offense contact parent in person if possible, by phone if necessary, by email as last resort
4th and any after : administrative referral
I give each child the same 3 chance each class so that they learn to be willing to be held accountable for their actions. If parents have any questions please feel free to contact me.
