Welcome to AP Biology!
AP Biology is a course designed by the college board to give high school students the opportunity to challenge themselves with the quality of work that would be seen in a college level introductory biology class. The class is structured around four big ideas which will provide the framework for the AP Biology class.
Science is a process of inquiry where each investigation leads to further questions. The process of inquiry is of prime importance in AP biology as students will be asked to participate in at least eight labs set by the college board. Each of these activities will require students to design investigations and apply critical thinking to the processes of biology.
Homework and Quizzes
Students should spend between 30 minutes and 1 hour on homework per night. This includes a nightly reading assignment where they can take notes to use on quizzes. This should take approximately 30 minutes. Students can have additional assignments or may choose to spend additional time reviewing. It is imperative that students keep up with all reading assignments.
Students may use notes taken in class or from their textbook on all quizzes
