What Will You Need For Band Camp and Rehearsal

 

1. Eat a good Breakfast everyday   

2. Stay hydrated   

3. A positive attitude  

4. Medication which corresponds with your Medical Release Form   

5. Instrument and Music   

6. Be on time!!!!   

7.  Water Thermos   with your name clearly written on it. 

8.  Tennis Shoes with socks   

9.  School appropriate shorts and light colored T-shirts.   

10. Hat and Sunglasses   

11. (optional) Sun Screen and Bug Spray   

12. HEALTHY!!!!! Lunch and Snacks 

13. Stay hydrated

Competition Tips and Procedures
1. Competitions usually last an entire day.  Schedules from the sight-chairman usually do not come out until a week or two prior.  Any and all information/itineraries will be sent out once I receive notice.  We typically meet in the morning and return late evening depending on where the competition may be.
2. Typical order of day:
   a. Arrive at school and dress into uniform; get all necessary items as stated below
   b. Finish loading the trailers and buses
   c. Arrive at site with enough time to unload, use the restroom, get water/snack
   d. Warm-up
   e. Performance
   f. Return to stadium to watch other bands
   g. Award Ceremony
3. Football Game Attire:
   a. Purple Band Shirt
   b. Khaki Shorts
   c. Band Shoes
   d. Black Socks
4. Competition Attire:
   a. Arrive at school wearing your digi-camo shirt
   b. Wear a pair of non-bulky athletic shorts under your bibbers
   c. Once you arrive at school, students are to get into their bibbers.
   d. Check for your Black gloves (woodwinds with fingertips cut out)
   e. Check for your Band Shoes
   f.  Check for your Black Socks
   g. Check for your Compression sleeves
   h.  Check for your Shako (plumes via Adults)
   I. Check for your Instrument and Instrument Accessories.
   j. Bring a change of clothes for post-performance: purple band shirt, appropriate shorts, tennis shoes
5. Students need to bring $Money$ for lunch and/or dinner at the concession stands.  The Booster Club will typically provide 1 meal, frequent water and snacks.
6. All students MUST ride the bus to a competition.  If a parents wishes to take their child, they may do so after the student performs.  All students MUST check-out with Mr. Foster or Mr. Rogers before leaving
7. Students need to abide by any rules and procedures as gone over by the Band Directors and stated by the itinerary

9.  All students need to make sure their uniform is placed back and hung correctly once they return to YPA
10.  All students are also expected to help unload any equipment.  "Many hands make light work."
11.  Two buses will be taken to every competition.  At least one adult needs to be present on each bus.  One bus will be designated for females and one designated for males.
